Even the weather couldn’t dampen the spirit of tourists coming to the Cariboo.
We asked Jaylynn Byers, Supervisor of the Williams Lake Visitors Centre if there has been an increase over last year in visits so far.
“We have had a small increase from last year in visitors overall and we also had an 11 percent increase in American Visitors which I believe has something to do with the dollar but also I think its our beautiful province they want to see”.
And are more Cariboo residents staying home this summer?
“Yes more people are. I think with the dollar as it is they want to stay in their area and more and more people are finding out that there’s little treasures all around this area”.
Byers says she also seen an increase for basic information.
