5 New Electoral Directors To Be Inaugurated

The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) has 5 new electoral directors after the official election results were released last week.

Elected Area D Director Steve Forseth says it’s still hard for him to believe.

“It hasn’t sunk in yet; it may well be several weeks before it will sink in that I’m officially elected. I’m just so honored and humbled to have been elected as the Electoral Area D Director.”

Forseth adds that he’s looking forward to a revived relationship with the City of Williams Lake.

“With the new term forthcoming, I think that’s a new opportunity to reset the relationship and to move forward for the betterment of not only Area D residents but that of the entire Central Cariboo.”

Forseth had suggested at a public mayoral forum that the relationship between the City and CRD is effectively dead due to a dispute regarding fire protection.

Also joining Forseth as a New Electoral Area Director is Jerry Bruce for Area B, Dylan Cash for Area I, and Betty Anderson for Area K, with Brian Coakley acclaimed for area L.

The CRD’s inaugural meeting for the new board of directors will take place on Dec. 12.
