Counter Attacks Roadblocks on the rise for Summer
According to ICBC 46% of BC driving fatalities happen between the months of June and September which is why ICBC and Police are stepping up Counter Attack roadside checks across the province for the remainder of summer.
BC carries the toughest drinking and driving laws in Canada which includes fines reaching $4060, driving suspensions of up to 90 days, and even jail time.
Stats collected by ICBC over the past 4 years show impaired driving remains the leading cause of criminal death in Canada and in the top 3 contributing factors for fatal crashes in BC.
With increased traffic and vacation plans that are more likely to involve alcohol ICBC is urging everyone to plan ahead travel safely.
