Quesnel Competitors Shine At Two BC Rodeos

A Quesnel cowboy got a nice view from the top at a couple of BC Rodeo Association events over the weekend.

Dyson Leneve won both the Breakaway Roping and the Junior Breakaway Roping in Pritchard.

His junior time, a 3 and 8, was even better than his winning time in the open event.

And Dyson also took top spot in the juniors in Anahim Lake.

Quesnel’s Micah Gordon had the only Bull Ride in Pritchard.

An 81 on “Bugs” earned him 900 dollars.

Other Quesnel winners included Emma Langevin in Junior Barrel Racing and Denton Spiers in Junior Steer Riding.

Spiers won the Bull Riding in Anahim Lake with an 82 for 773 dollars.

Williams Lake’s Ryan Hume won the open Team Roping with Carl Hyde of Prince George and the Number 8 Team Roping with John Hancock of Quesnel.

Alyson Schuk of 150 Mile captured the Breakaway Roping, Brooke Call…from the 150 as well…was first in Junior Barrels and Kira Stowell from Quesnel was both the Pee Wee Barrel Racing and Pole Bending champion.

Next up is the annual Quesnel Rodeo during Billy Barker Days, which is the biggest event of the year…outside of the Finals…for the BCRA.
