Extra Daycare Spaces in Wells

There will be extra child daycare spaces available in Wells through provincial funding.

Dawn Leroy, a parent, and volunteer at Huckleberry Daycare says the 24 extra child care spaces is of great significance.

“Daycare has always been an issue in Wells. It’s been really hard for parents to be able to find work because they don’t have proper daycare. We don’t have full consistent caregivers; there’s a huge lack in the town of Wells. This funding is allowing us to expand our space in the school and to make it easier for the daycare workers and to accommodate children.”

The construction and renovations for the new spaces at Huckleberry Day Care are expected to begin by March 2015 through capital funding of $21,790.
