The 40th Annual BC Elders Gathering in Williams Lake may not officially begin until Tuesday but there is a special event planned for everyone on Monday.
Cecil Grinder, Chair of the BC Elders Gathering explains what that is.
“The rodeo is free for all people to come in but we’re asking for donations. The grand entry will be at five then the rodeo will start at six”
Grinder also explained how the idea of holding a rodeo came about.
“ My co-chair Stan Stump, our elder said we’ll show you the wild wild west when we had our first meeting last august after the BC Elders meeting in Vancouver we came up with the rodeo”.
The number of participants attending the 40th Annual BC Elders Gathering in Williams Lake July 11th to 14th is estimated at four thousand.
