Chilko & Chilcotin Rivers make for world class adventure

The best river trip in the world is right here in the Cariboo-Chilcotin, according to Outside Magazine.

The Chilko and Chilcotin 8 day (2 hiking/6 on the water) river adventure offered by a company called ROAM takes you through the longest stretch of commercial whitewater in North America, also known as Lava Canyon.

We spoke to Outside Magazine Correspondent Tim Neville about the selection process:

Neville says the feedback they received about the Chilko river trip was far more thorough than many other experiences.

That’s something ROAM President and Founder Brian McCutcheon was very happy to hear.

This is what he had to say about the award:

According to Outside Magazine, the trip also offers, “some of the continent’s most rugged peaks,” and, “clutch rapids.”

The runner up is Outside Magazine’s best river trip category was the Ord River in Australia.
