Youths Arrested In Vandalism Spree

Quesnel RCMP made two arrests after several vehicles were damaged yesterday. (July 4)

Sargeant Darren Dodge says they received several calls from people that were concerned that their vehicles had been spray painted or rummaged through.

He says in one case the contents in the vehicle were set on fire.

Dodge says members attended and determined that 7 vehicles had been spray painted as well as one home.

These incidents occurred downtown on Reid, McNaughton and McLean Streets.

Dodge says an abandoned car that was stolen out of Alberta was also recovered.

He says later in the day they were dealing with a complaint in the 10 Mile Lake area and that police located two male youths and determined that they were responsible for all of the vehicle damage and the stolen car.

Dodge says the youths, from Saskatchewan, are now facing several possible charges including Mischief, Theft Under 5 Thousand Dollars and Possession of Stolen Property.
