Driving while impaired on an ATV is the same as drunk driving in a vehicle.
That message from the 100 Mile House RCMP after a man was pulled over on Highway 97 near Timothy Lake Road on Sunday.
Corporal Brian Lamb says “the member observed an ATV travelling on the fog line of the highway, which is against the law, the driver of the ATV was observed striking a pothole in the road which caused what looked to be numerous alcohol containers to fall to the ground.”
Lamb says a roadside test was then conducted which resulted in a fail.
He says the driver was then issued an immediate 90-day roadside prohibition, a no insurance violation ticket and had his ATV impounded for 30 days.
