Funds were raised Saturday night to provide more positive youth programming in Williams Lake and area for youth at risk.
Executive Director for the Punky Lake Wilderness Camp Society, Sarah Jackman says the 1st Bids for Kids was fantastic!
“I haven’t finished up doing the final count yet; I’ll do that when I get into the office, but we’re estimating we made about $5,000.”
As for if the event which auctioned off items crafted by inmates will be held again, Jackman says she is hopeful that it can.
“Through Work 2 Give, we have some really talented guys that are working on the project and I’m sure that once I let them know how well this went, I know that they’ll want to do more.”
Bids for Kids was put together in partnership between the Punky Lake Wilderness Camp Society and the Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre with funds raised going to both of the organizations.
