Business Delegation from China wrap up Tour of the Cariboo

Local government officials wrapped giving a tour of the Cariboo to a group of potential investors from China.

Al Richmond, Chair of the Cariboo Regional District says contacts were made.

“I heard that there was some interest in a few opportunities, but specifically those are discussions that people have amongst business so we wouldn’t necessarily be party to the full discussion but certainly my understanding is they expressed some interest in a couple of things and there were some things in the works.”

Richmond says he’ll meet with the group in Vancouver tomorrow evening for further discussion.

Mayor of Williams Lake Walt Cobb says although it takes a while to put together a deal, the group did express interest in the airport and a couple of Lake City properties.

The group began their week-long tour of the Cariboo on July 15th visiting 100 Mile House, Wells, Barkerville, Quesnel, and Williams Lake.
