Bikers Ride for Awareness on Child Abuse

About 25 bikers departed the Williams Lake Oliver Street Bar and Grill in the Central Cariboo Temp Chapter’s 1st Child Abuse Awareness Ride on Saturday.

“The statistics are pretty terrifying as many as 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused by the time they’re 18….what we need to do is take a stand against this and really make a difference in somebody’s life.. I really want you to think about how this is a real epidemic, it’s a plague, it’s a very serious pattern and it affects us all”, says Chapter President John-Paul Albinati (aka Hooligan).

All proceeds and donations from the event which will wrap up with a dinner and dance at the Overlander Convention Centre are put to work locally to empower abused children.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Chapter is invited to attend a monthly meeting which starts 1pm on Sunday at the Williams Lake Big Brothers and Big Sisters office located at 369 Oliver Street.
