Quesnel Will Be Prominent Behind Bench At World Hockey Under-17s

Quesnel is apparently a good breeding ground for coaches.

Mitch Love, a former Quesnel Minor Hockey product, has been named as an assistant coach for Hockey Canada’s national men’s under-17 squad and at the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

And he’s not alone.

Love says “to be selected as one of the 9 coaches for the under-17 program out of hundreds of applicants is a huge honour itself and something pretty special for me.”

And Love also says he will be joined by Ryan Marsh, who is also from Quesnel.

Marsh, an assistant coach with Edmonton in the Western Hockey League, also played his minor hockey in Quesnel and also suited up the Millionaires.

Love, an assistant with Everett in the WHL, was an assistant coach at last year’s Under-17’s as well and earned a gold medal.

This year’s tournament begins on October 30th.
