Cariboo Rodeo Students Punch Ticket To Gillette, Wyoming

Four Quesnel students have qualified for the National High School Rodeo Finals in Gillette, Wyoming.
Denton Spiers, a grade 10 student at Correlieu Secondary, qualified in two events.
He was first in the Bull Riding and 4th in the Team Roping at the Provincials that were held at Alex Fraser Park in Quesnel this past weekend.
Dustin Spiers, in grade 12, also qualified as he and his partner were number one in the Team Roping at Provincials.
Mariah (Mar-eye-uh) Mannering, in grade 12, was 3rd in Pole Bending and Tyler Cherry, still only in grade 9, was 4th in the Bull Riding.
They all also qualify for the Canadian High School Finals in Nanton, Alberta.
Mannering also qualified in the Barrel Racing, Taylor Cherry made it in Pole Bending and Blaine Manuel from 150 Mile also qualified for the Canadians in the Steer Wrestling.
