Local Boxers Shine at Golden Gloves Championships In Quesnel

Local boxers did well as Quesnel, for the first time, hosted the Golden Gloves Championships on Friday and Saturday nights.
Curtis “Clubber” Lobsinger improved to 3 and 0 with a first round TKO over Bhodi Cartland from Nelson.
Wally Dorn, the coach of the Two Rivers Boxing Club, says no one has made it to the 3rd round against Lobsinger so far.
Olin “Tiger” Lee and Abi Sing from New Westminister put on quite a show in the main event on Saturday night.
Lee won a very close split decision and has now won two out of three against Sing.
And Shawn Archer fought twice against very good opponents.
He lost a split decision to Randall Graham from Prince George who is undefeated and Archer also lost on Satuday night to Rob Cousins, the Provincial champion from New West.
There were several exhibition bouts as well.
Local fighters involved in those were “Iron” Emmitt Emblau, Kyle Black, Nick Kwiakowski, Heera Panasar, Evan Peever and 52-year old James Mott.
