Quesnel Seeks Federal Money For Lebourdais Park

Quesnel City Council will be asking Ottawa for some money to help revitalize Lebourdais Park.
Jeff Norburn, the Director of Community Services, says Council has endorsed an application to the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program for a 500 thousand dollar project for 50 percent of the funding.
Norburn says the city’s portion, if other grants or funds aren’t available, would come out of the Capital Reinvestment Fund.
He says there are three aspects to the project….around 200 thousand dollars to upgrade the existing parking lot and sidewalk, 180 thousand for a new playground and around 120 grand for renovations to the museum.
Norburn says if they are successful the work would take place in 2017.
