Interior Health has a new website available to help palliative care patients and their loved ones.
Patient Voice has six easy to understand sections that not only had to be informative to meet practical needs, but also sensitive as Regional Clinical Nurse Specialist, Palliative Care, Elizabeth Antifeau explains.
“The end product has resulted in language that is more supportive for the average public member, less medical in tone. We shifted the language from third person to first person as if we were speaking directly to you so it’s easier to both understand and it feels more intimate.”
The website covers several topics including making tough decisions, choosing care options, what to expect in the final days and after death.
