The 15th annual Relay for Life in Quesnel, the first annual in a new location at Baker Creek Park, was a success.
Mary Sjostrom, in charge of communications for the event, admits there was some apprehension going in with all of the changes, but she says things turned out great.
She says she “can’t say enough about the team, Deb Burton just ran a really, really good team and everybody was really keen, the sponsors were just tremendous and once again the community always comes up to the plate.”
Sjostrom says around 38 thousand dollars has tentatively been raised and the last update she had was that they had 17 or 18 teams, which was up from a dozen last year.
A beef and bouquet meeting is planned and Sjostrom says there they will go over what went well and what things could be improved for next year.
