Shriners Take Over Downtown Williams Lake

A rainy morning could not dampen the cheerful spirits of the Shriners of BC & Yukon who took to downtown Williams Lake this morning in part of their annual ceremonial parade.

RCMP led the half-hour long parade, with Shriners handing out red noses for the many children who lined the streets with their parents, leading the way to the Children’s Festival in Boitanio Park.

Also taking in the parade were many local organizations including the Lions Club, Cariboo-Chilcotin Child Development Centre, and Pioneer Log Homes.

Although the rain came down quite heavy following the parade, smiles remained throughout the day.

This marks the time ever the Shriners have held their annual spring ceremonial in Williams Lake.
