The historic town of Barkerville broke a new attendance record over the opening week of the season.
James Douglas, the Manager of Visitor Experiences, says it was an amazing first week from Thursday the 19th until Wednesday the 25th.
He says they saw just over 33 hundred people come through the gates which is a ten year record for Barkerville.
Douglas says the bulk of those, 24-hundred, came on the long weekend and he says a lot of them came to have tea with Queen Victoria on Monday.
Douglas says they had two sold out sittings of high tea with her majesty at the Wake Up Jake Restaurant.
He says admission will remain by donation only for the rest of the month.
