A 20 person unit crew from the Cariboo Fire Centre will be heading out of the province.

Fire Information Officer Ryan Turcotte, says wildfire personnel from across the province will be heading to Alberta.

“We’re sending five unit crews or other words 100 firefighters to Alberta as well as 2 agencies representatives and 9 support personnel. So they’re expected to arrive in Hinton Alberta sometime today.”

Turcotte says another 100 firefighters will be going to Thunder Bay Ontario tomorrow.

The crews who can be deployed for up to 19 days, can be recalled at any time should the fire conditions change in BC.

Fire conditions in B.C’s northeast have eased after significant rain and snow.
