Final Push For Seniors Housing Project In Quesnel

The Quesnel Lions Club is looking for public support in the final push for a new 5-million dollar seniors’ housing complex.

Society President Mitch Vik says they are looking for letters of support from individuals, business and government as that will be one of the keys to a funding application to the Provincial Government.

Vik says letters can be emailed to [email protected].

He says they are looking for around 2 million dollars from the Provincial Government.

Vik says they have around a quarter of a million dollars raised so far.

He says that includes land and donations.

Vik says the deadline to make an application to the province is June 15th.

The project is for a 30 unit, four storey affordable seniors housing building at the corner of Reid Street and McNaughton Avenue.

It would be the first apartment building built in North Quesnel in more than 25 years.
