It’s a blow for Cariboo ski enthusiasts as the 2015 Cariboo Marathon has been canceled.
Lauren Bock with the 100 Mile House Nordic Ski Society, says the annual skiing event took a turn downhill as no one has stepped forward as the new President of the Marathon Committee.
Bock says the annual skiing event meant a lot to not only ski enthusiasts but also the community.
She adds that even if there would be a new President it would be too late as of now to put together the Marathon that is heavily dependent on volunteers.
The Marathon Committee has been without a President since Nicola Maughn stepped down following the 2014 Marathon.
