Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Williams Lake Celebrates 50 Years

It’s not the oldest but it has been around for a long time in Williams Lake.

This weekend marks the 50th Anniversary of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Father Derrick Cameron says the Church other than the replaced wooden shingles, is pretty much in its’ original condition when it opened back in 1966.

“We still even have the original furnace in it patched up and all that, but it’s time we replace it pretty soon,” he says.

The church bells at Sacred Heart Catholic Church have continued to ring within the Lake City since they were installed back on July 1, 1967-Canada’s Centennial birthday.
