Sport Chek Opens

The City of Williams Lake officially has another sporting store, after Sport Chek opened their doors this morning.

General Manager Kelly Beaugrand, says she is happy to be part of a team that inspires every Canadian to move on the path of wellness.

“We like to promote a healthy, active, lifestyle. That’s why with the staff that we’ve hired, they are all athletes, or sports enthusiasts so we help our customers get to where they want to be and the activities that they do.”

According to Beaugrand, there was a large turnout of job applicants.

“At our location here, we’ve employed 30 people from Williams Lake. We had over 500 people apply for these positions, so it’s really exciting.”

Beaugrand, who made the move to the Lake City from Vernon, says she is happy to a part of the community.

“I’ve got to experience a bit of Williams Lake and everybody is excited to be here…I’m equally excited to get out there and see all the businesses and what Williams Lake has to offer.”

Beaugrand says many of the specials in the store will continue into Saturday.
