A grand opening party for the new RCMP detachment in 100 Mile House took place this past weekend.
The event featured speeches by many dignitaries such as MLA Donna Barnett, CRD chair Al Richmond, Canim Lake band chief Mike Archie and 100 Mile House Mayor Mitch Campsell who says the staff at this detachment are special.
The detachment features some new state of the art technology. Staff sergeant Blake Ward says the cameras in and around the building were a big upgrade.
The event featured a cake-cutting ceremony, a buffalo burger lunch, and a traditional dance by Canim Lake band members.
