Cariboo Track Athletes Top Podium In Prince George

Cariboo athletes performed well at the Sub Zero Track and Field meet in Prince George.
Bazil Spencer, from Quesnel Junior School, was first in three events.
He won an exciting 800-metres by less than half a second and Spencer was also first in the boys 14 and 15 year old 12-hundred metres and high jump.
Olivia Baptiste, from Correlieu Secondary, won the girls 16 and 17 year old 800-metre run finishing just ahead of her teammate Avery Drew.
Baptiste was also the runner-up in the 15-hundred and anchored the girls 4 by 100 relay team to victory as well.
Drew, Olivia Moody and Casey Richert were also part of that winning team.
Cole Dinsdale, from Correliue as well, won both the boys 18 and 19 year old 800 and 1500 metres.
One other Quesnel result saw Christo Henderson, from QJS, win the boys 14 and 15 year old 100 metre hurdles by the slightest of margins in a photo finish.
Gabrielle Gracia, from Lake City Secondary, led the way for Williams Lake.
She won the girls 12 year old 1200 metres and long jump and was also 2nd in both the 300 and 800 metres.
Finley Enns was 2nd in both the boys 13 year old 1200 and triple jump.
The track and field zone championships will also be in Prince George on May 20th and 21st.
