Hike For Hospice Ready To Go In Quesnel

The 15th annual Hike for Hospice will take place in Quesnel this Sunday.

Sherry Webster, the Executive Director and Secretary for Quesnel District Hospice Palliative Care Association, says registration will take place at 11-30 at Lebourdais Park and then the hike will begin at 1.

Webster says it takes place across Canada now but she says that wasn’t always the case.

She says it actually started here in Quesnel in 2001 and then in 2002 it became province wide before it was adapted by the Canadian Hospice Society in 2003.

Webster says the money raised supports hospice palliative care services and this year they hope to raise 75-hundred dollars for a specialty mattress.

She says it doesn’t have to be turned all of the time because it does it itself.
