Ground Broken For Sam Ketcham Pool Upgrade Project

The ground has been officially broken for the Sam Ketcham Pool renovations.

Local government officials, along with representatives from West Fraser, and Northern Development Initiative Trust toured through the construction site of the upgrade project Wednesday morning.

Williams Lake City Councillor Laurie Walters is with the working group for the project, says it really does demonstrate how the City and Cariboo Regional District work well together.

“Whether it’s the arts and culture or recreation, we really do share that passion moving forward. I’m very excited to be here for the official ground breaking for the West Fraser Aquatic Centre…That’s a name we’re going to be hearing for a really long time.”

Completion of the SKP Upgrade Project is slated for the fall of 2017.

A video camera, which updates every 10 minutes, has been installed on the West Fraser Aquatic Centre at the Cariboo Memorial Complex construction site to allow residents, the media and stakeholders the ability to check on the project progress from the comfort of home.

The camera can be viewed through the Cariboo Regional District website.
