UPDATE: One road closure remains in 100 Mile

One road remains closed in 100 Mile House, that being 1st Street from Dogwood Avenue to just past Cedar Avenue.

District Director of Engineering Phil Strain explains what happened:

Strain says when they turned on the water after some maintenance flushing, one of the spindles broke.

Upon trying to excavate to get underground today, they found their machine could only get down two feet due to the frost, of which there is five feet. Strain says a bigger excavator has been called in and should be done around 7 or 8pm tonight.

He also says the costs are covered under the District’s General Maintenance fund.

Luckily, today is a Pro-D day for all schools in SD27, so students do not have to go without their H2O and will be unaffected tomorrow.
