Quesnel RCMP are now investigating what is being called a “suspicious” fire that destroyed a home in South Quesnel on Friday.
Sergeant Darren Dodge, Media Relations Officer at the Detachment, says they came to that conclusion based on information that they received at the scene as well as a subsequent investigation.
Police and the Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department were called to a structure fire in the 2200 block of Timothy Road at around 11:30 a.m on Friday.
Fire Chief Sylvain Gauthier says it was already fully engulfed and it was too late to save the house.
He says there were no injuries as there was no one home at the time.
