Wranglers going younger on their blue line and in net with three trades

The 100 Mile House Wranglers are going younger at their blue line with a new pair of defencemen.

On Friday, the Wranglers traded their veteran 20-year-old defenceman, Landen Janz, for a pair of 2007-born defencemen from the Grand Forks Border Bruins’ roster, Jake O’Keefe and Brenan Kearney.

O’Keefe has four goals with four assists for eight points in 18 games with the Bruins in his first season of the KIJHL.

Kearney has two assists and two points in 13 games with the Bruins.

Landen Janz has been with the Wranglers for two seasons. This season, he has three goals, six assists for nine points across 16 games. Last year, Janz scored eight goals, 23 assists for 31 points over 42 games.

100 Mile House also acquired a goalie in Friday’s transactions.

The Wranglers acquired 2006-born Mathis Perron from the Merritt Centennials in return for future considerations.

Perron, in his second KIJHL season, has one win and three losses, saving 86 out of 102 shots against, with an 84 save percentage in four games played this year.
