One Less Candidate?

According to Facebook, there will be one less candidate in the upcoming Municipal election in Quesnel.

Shawna Siemens has posted on her Facebook page that “due to unforeseen circumstances she will be withdrawing from the local election”.

However, unless the City gets something in writing, her name will still appear on the ballot.

If Siemens does officially withdraw then that would leave 8 people running for 6 available seats.

Former City Councillor Ron Paull, Ernest Gamache, and Kyle Jones are challenging the incumbents Scott Elliott, Ed Coleman, Laurey-Anne Roodenburg, Shushil Thapar and John Brisco.

The first of three advance polls is coming up on Wednesday from 8 am until 8 pm at City Hall.

General election day will be Nov. 15.
