Barnett: "We All want the Mine to Re-open, but there is a Process"

The City of Williams Lake continues to remain in close contact with Imperial Metals, local MLAs, and other stakeholders, regarding the future of the Mt. Polley Mine.

Cariboo-Chilcotin MLA, Donna Barnett, says as much as many individuals want to see the mine return to full operation since the August 4th tailings pond breach, a cleanup plan has yet to be approved.

Williams Lake City Council recently passed a recommendation to write a letter to the provincial government expressing the importance of Mt. Polley returning to full operations.

A large majority of Mt. Polley employees live in Williams Lake and the surrounding area.
