Logging truck collision claims one life in Quesnel

A Quesnel man has died after being struck by a logging truck in Quesnel on Thursday morning.

Quesnel RCMP were dispatched to a report of a shirtless man “acting erratically”, yelling and swinging his arms near the West Park Mall at approximately 9:35 a.m. on September 26.

While on their way to the scene, Police say they were notified the man had been by a logging truck at the off-ramp off North Fraser Drive and Anderson Drive.

Police and Emergency Services performed life-saving measures on the man on the scene before he was taken to G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital, where he was declared deceased.

The Moffat Bridge Loop to West Quesnel was closed for a period of four hours on Thursday morning, while police investigated. It was reopened later the same afternoon.
