The Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit (CC-CRU) began an investigation on Thursday, September 18, 2025, aimed at drug trafficking in the city.

With intelligence lead policing CC-CRU focused on individuals who are believed to be involved with drug trafficking and violence related offences in the area.

Significant evidence was obtained and as a result one individual, known to police to be actively involved in the illicit drug trade, was arrested.

Police said the adult male was found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, meth, bear spray, over $4,200 as well as items often seen in drug trafficking.
