Caps fall short of the Esso Cup

The Northern Capitals couldn’t buy a goal falling to the Rocky Mountain Raiders 3-0 on Saturday losing the best of 3 Pacific Regional Female Midget AAA Hockey Championship 2-0.

Raiders captain Nicolette Seper led the charge offensively with two goals while Kennedy Brown potted the other.

Rocky Mountain carried a 1-0 through two periods and added two empty-netters late in the third period.

The Capitals could not find the back of the net despite outshooting the visitors 29-19 overall.

The Raiders will not represent the Pacific Region at the Esso Cup April 17-23 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.

Several players from the Cariboo and Bulkley Valley and Lakes were on the Capitals this year.
