UPDATE: CRD Rescinds Boil Water Notice & Conserve Water Advisory for Lac La Hache Water System

**Update, August 08 **

The Caribooo Regional District (CRD) has rescinded the Boil Water Notice in Lac La Hache effective immediately.

The CRD says all residents using the Lac La Hache may resume normal water use. The Regional District also says that Interior Health gave the go-ahead to lift the advisory as the required test results came back clear.

Residents are encouraged to continue to conserve water use as much as they can, until reservoir levels are back to normal.

** Original Story **

A Boil Water Notice issued by the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) is in effect for Lac La Hache Water System users.

The CRD said the notice was issued August 2nd due to a mechanical malfunction of the water system from a lightning strike that caused the reservoir to run dry.

All users of the Lac La Hache Water System are asked to bring water to a rolling boil for a minimum of one minute before using water from the system for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing dishes, washing fruits or vegetables to be eaten raw, and watering animals.

The notice will remain in effect until the Cariboo Regional District and Interior Health are confident the water is safe.

The CRD also issued a conserve water advisory to all users of the Lac La Hache Water System until water levels come up in the reservoir.

They ask users to cut back on non-essential water use and to stop outdoor watering.
