Have the F–Bandits Struck Again? And Other Break-Ins around 100 Mile House

It has been several months since the last time a Ford F-Series truck was stolen in and around 100 Mile House. But the F-Bandits may have struck again in Lac La Hache last week.

100 Mile RCMP Sergeant Brian Lamb reports that a red 2003 Ford F–350 was taken from a property in the 3000 block of Highway 97 in Lac La Hache, on July 26.

“The vehicle was taken sometime overnight and has not been recovered,” Lamb says. “In this case, the vehicle’s keys were accounted for, and the ignition was believed to have been bypassed.”

The RCMP are on the lookout for the truck. The red F–350 has a BC License plate WL2200, and has a push bumper bar and a winch mounted on it.

While Lamb cannot speak on all the cases of Ford F-Series trucks being targeted, Lamb says that bypassing the ignition has been a common trait. In 100 Mile House, a Ford F-Series between 2000 and 2008 models has been either stolen or attempted to be stolen once every two weeks to a month back until May of 2024. Until the five-month-long hiatus from January 2025, until last weekend in July.

“I am aware that in previous cases, the ignitions were bypassed as well. So it is possible that someone familiar with how to bypass those things on those specific eras of the trucks, in an obvious effort to steal the vehicles.”

The area in Lac La Hache is considered a rural residential zone, and Lamb says there were houses and properties in the area and would have visible lines of sight to the property where the F–350 was taken.

100 Mile House RCMP ask that if anyone did see anything suspicious or has seen the vehicle in the last week, to call the local detachment.

Other B-n-Es and Thefts:

The theft of the Ford truck was not the only theft, or potential theft, in 100 Mile House over the last weekend.

100 Mile House RCMP say the District has seen a rise in break and enters since the summer has started. Between July 22 and July 29, the RCMP responded to 114 calls for service.

There were three cases of Break and Enters reported to the RCMP.

On July 22, 2025, the RCMP received a report of an attempted break-in to a business located on the 200 block of Cedar Ave. Police were advised that a female with blonde hair wearing a white dress and a male described as being in his 30s with greasy black hair wearing a black shirt, black hat, and camouflage shorts were attempting to gain access to the building. Police believe the incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m.

RCMP were called to the scene of a business on the 5000 block of Easzee Dr. that had its alarm sounding off on July 23, 2025. Police attended where a break and enter was confirmed with numerous windows being broken. No one was located inside the building. The incident occurred at 11:20 PM.

On July 26, 2025, the RCMP received a report of an attempted break and enter into a residence on the 900 block of Cariboo Tr. Sometime overnight, the front door of the residence was damaged with a tool in an attempt to gain entry.

RCMP responded to a boat on fire on Drewery Lake on July 26, 2025. Police and BC Wildfire attended, where the fire was extinguished. No one was injured, but the boat sustained severe damage.

Then a peddle boat was taken from a lakeside residence on Mulligan Dr. on Horse Lake, on July 28, 2025. RCMP received a report of the theft on July 28, 2025, but no timeline of when the theft occurred was available.
