Poppies Available in Part of Poppy Campaign

The symbolic flower of remembrance will be springing up at businesses across the Cariboo in part of the Royal Canadian Legion’s Poppy Campaign.

Joe Bazan, Chair of the Poppy Campaign in Williams Lake, says the white containers holding the poppies for donation will be available at various merchants as of today.

Wreaths and crosses will also be displayed, in which Bazan says there has been a heightened demand for this year following recent attacks on home soil against Canadian soldiers.

If you wish to further contribute, you can text the word “poppy” to the number 20222 and five dollars will be donated towards the Provincial Poppy Fund.

All donations raised through the Poppy Campaign go towards the benefits of veterans and active members of the armed services.
