Here comes the sun…and the heat to the Cariboo.
Environment Canada is forecasting today’s (May 28) daytime high in Williams Lake and Quesnel to reach 31 degrees and 29 for 100 Mile House.
“We’re going to get close records today in the Cariboo,” Meteorologist Bobby Sekhon said, “but we’ll probably be 1 or 2 degrees shy of the record. It will be 10 degrees above normal for this time of year but it will be very short lived.”
Looking ahead Sekhon said the region will get right back to the typical Spring patterns starting tomorrow (May 29).
“Near normal temperatures, a bit of fluctuation up and down in the temperatures. You’re going to see some sun, you’re going to see some showers, the risk of thunderstorms.”
And with May winding down and the beginning of June days away, we asked Sekhon what is that shaping up to look like.
“The first week of June the Region starts off with pretty normal weather for this time of year. It’s a bit uncertain as we get into mid next week as to whether we’re going to see the unsettled pattern or we might get the influence of an upper ridge giving more warm and dry weather. Generally the June forecast is indicating the probability of above normal temperatures.”
