Single Vehicle Rollover Claimed A Life Over The Weekend

One person died following a single vehicle rollover on Highway 97 near Maze Lake Road in the South Cariboo.

100 Mile House RCMP Sargant Brian Lamb said Police and Emergency Health Service responded Saturday morning at 1:36 where they located a vehicle off the Highway in the ditch.

“A single male occupant was found outside the vehicle who was believed to have been ejected and was not breathing.” Lamb said, “Lifesaving efforts were attempted by persons who had come across the scene as well as first responders, but the 57 year old male resident from Northern BC was declared deceased.”

Police said BC Coroners Service was notified and attended.

Lamb said the causal factors of the crash are currently under investigation and next of kin have been notified.

Police are asking that anyone who may have witnesses the collision to call the 100 Mile House RCMP.
