Chair Of The Board Welcomes New CEO To Northern Development Initiative Trust

After a months-long process the Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT) Board of Directors have selected their new Chief Executive Officer.

Ben Campbell will be taking over the position after holding the interim CEO since January first of this year.

Chair of the Board Margo Wagner said Campbell has been with NDIT for almost 4 years as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Wagner said the Board did an application process and had 66 applications, which was incredible, and 5 people were interviewed for the role.

“Very good interviews, very capable people. The Board made the decision to give the position to Campbell based on his performance during the interview and also his performance while being the Interim CEO. He is a Chartered Accountant, worked for quite awhile with KPMG in Prince George before he got the CFO job with Northern Development Initiative Trust.”

The Board’s appointment of Campbell to the Chief Executive Officer position is effective immediately.

Wagner said the Board is looking for some innovative ideas from Campbell especially with everything that is going on in the U-S right now.

“We realize NDIT will have to be a serious partner in helping some of the industries, businesses, and community groups that may end up really struggling if these tariffs stay in for a long time,” Wagner noted.

Ben Campbell took over the CEO role following the previous CEO, Joel McKay’s departure last year.
