Prelim Set For Accused In Canadian Tire Robbery In Williams Lake

A date has been set for a preliminary inquiry for one of two men who are charged in connection with a robbery at the Canadian Tire Store in Williams Lake.
58-year old Jody E. Stroud will be back in court on August 4th to see if he will stand trial.
He was arrested, along with his son 31-year old Jody C. Stroud, early last month after an employee of the store and the owner were allegedly bear sprayed while attempting to stop a theft.
RCMP say the younger suspect entered the store and stole a winch while his father waited outside in a getaway vehicle in the parking lot.
The younger Stroud is due back in court on Wednesday to fix a date for his next court appearance.
Both men are charged with Robbery, Theft under $5,000 and Possession of Stolen Property.
The elder Stroud is also facing one count of Dangerous Driving.
