Looks Like March Will Be Coming In Like A Lamb In The Cariboo

March..it either comes in like a lamb and goes out like a lion, or the reverse.

To find out which it will be we asked Environment Canada Meteorologist Derrick Lee.

“The daytime temperatures will be warm with a lot of sunshine on the way. This trend will continue this week to give the Cariboo region daytime highs two to four degrees above the seasonal average.”

Environment Canada has forecasted the Cariboo to have temperatures today (March 1) in the double digits so the question had to be asked “Is it possible we set, tie, or come close to a record”?

“Double digits are fantastic for this time of year, definitely 6 to 8 degrees above normal. In order to break a record it will need to be two to three more degrees than that. In Williams Lake you’ll have to see a high of 12 or 13 to break the record, for 100 Mile House and Quesnel, it would need to be 14 to 15 degrees to break a record. Close but not breaking the all time record but the Cariboo may be in the running in the top five warmest days for March First.”

Lee said looking ahead, maybe Thursday or Friday, and possibly into the following weekend, Environment Canada anticipates for wetter weather.
