Home invasion leads to arrests in Quesnel

Quesnel RCMP say two suspects are in custody in connection with a home invasion.

Sergeant Clay Kronebusch says they were called to a rural property on West Fraser Road about 10 kilometers south of Quesnel on Sunday afternoon at around 1:28 p.m.

“Two men produced handguns, entered the residence and threatened and assaulted the victim. A firearm was discharged inside the residence during the encounter, but the victim was not struck by the gun fire.”

Kronebush says the victim did sustain minor injuries during the assault.

He says the suspects are now in custody.

“35-year old Eric Joseph Heidemann and 58-year old Jerry Douglas Clement have been charged with several offences, including pointing a firearm, possession of a handgun for dangerous purpose, forcible confinement, assault and uttering threats, as well as other firearms related offences.”

Kronebusch says the suspects and the victim were known to each other.
