Quesnel residents provide input into city budget

Quesnel City Council has a little more to think about before making a final decision on this year’s operating budget.

A survey conducted last month shows that 36 1/2 percent of respondents are in favour of a modest property tax increase to main the current level of services.

28 1/2 percent said they were OK with an increase in taxes to maintain and improve services.

19 percent were in favour of reducing some services in order to keep taxes where they are.

And 8 percent would like to see some services eliminated in order to reduce property taxes.

189 people completed a survey this year.

That was down from 276 last year, and 252 in 2023.
