Snow removal costs in Quesnel come in well under budget in 2024

Mother nature was kind to the City of Quesnel last year, at least when it comes to snowfall in 2024.

Director of Finance Kari Bolton confirmed at Tuesday (Feb 4) night’s City Council meeting that the snow removal budget ended up about 19 percent, or 265 thousand dollars, UNDER budget.

The final tally was just over $1,163,107 against a budget of more than $1,428,078.

The city’s snow reserve remains at 368 thousand dollars which is at its maximum.

That means that the money saved this year will go into surplus.
