Fire Chief Ron Richert says the call came in at 9-30.

“We were dispatched to a dumpster fire in the alley behind 338 Front Street. We’ve had multiple dumpster fires there throughout the last year.”

Richert says these types of fires are definitely a concern.

“Especially if they are adjacent to a building. We’ve had a rash of dumpster fires and we just ask the public if they see any suspicious activity in the alley around dumpsters to call it in, or if they see viisble flames to call 9-1-1.”

Richert says there was no one in the area when they arrived.

He says they were on scene for 15 to 20 minutes.
