Suspect gets suspended sentence for stabbing incident in Williams Lake

A 56-year old man has been sentenced for aggravated assault in Williams Lake.

Larry Christopher Jeff received a conditional sentence of 2 years less a day, which means he won’t serve it in jail.

He also got 18 months probation and a 10-year firearms prohibition.

Jeff pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated assault back in July.

The charge stems from an incident in September of 2023.

Williams Lake RCMP responded to a report of a person attacking someone with an edged weapon in the downtown core.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP say the suspect had fled the scene on a bicycle prior to their arrival, but the victim was able to identify him and he was taken into custody shortly after that.
